Dr. Alejandro Ortega

Anesthesiologist

Dr. Alejandro Ortega earned a degree in medicine from the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, and thereafter, he completed a residency in anesthesiology at the Centro Médico del Noroeste near Mexicali, Mexico, adjacent to San Diego. He served as Anesthesiologist in Chief at the Playa del Carmen General Hospital, where he started the Anesthesia and Halotherapy Service, and he also served as Medical Director at Costamed, a private hospital in Playa del Carmen. Most recently, he has served as a leading anesthesiologist in Cancun at the Joint Commission International accredited Galenia Hospital as well as a large regional public hospital. He has also donated his time and expertise as a participating physician with Operation Walk, a non-profit organization that performs pro-bono orthopedic surgeries in Latin America.
